In 2026, the rules for temporary workers will change. Mentro explains in clear language what this means for you, from more security to fairer pay.

New rules, more certainty
Everyone who works through a temporary employment agency knows it. Rules change quickly.
But 2026 will be different.
A new collective labor agreement for temporary workers is coming.
And it will make the temping world fairer, clearer, and much more humane.
At Mentro, we find that important. Because you deserve clarity.
No hassle, no small print, just knowing where you stand.
1. Faster certainty about your contract
Until now, you could often work for four years through the same temporary employment agency before you received a permanent contract.
From 2026, that will be shorter.
The phases will look like this:
Phase A: a maximum of 52 worked weeks
Phase B: a maximum of 2 years with 6 temporary contracts
Phase C: then you receive a permanent contract from the temporary employment agency
In short: you accumulate certainty faster.
No more endless temporary contracts, but a fair path towards permanent work.
2. Equal pay for equal work
You do the same job as your permanent colleague, but sometimes get paid less.
That doesn’t feel fair.
The new collective labor agreement changes that.
From 2026, you are entitled to equivalent compensation.
This means you earn at least the same as someone who works directly for the company.
Not only in terms of salary, but also in terms of working hours, vacation days, bonuses, and reimbursements.
Everything must be clear and in writing.
Fair work, fair pay.
3. More clarity about your working hours
There will be more balance between your freedom and the agreements with the temporary employment agency.
You can still take on other jobs, but there must be clear agreements about:
which days you work
how many hours
how and when you are called up
No more last-minute calls.
Clarity is the new standard.
4. Vacation days will be clearer
The separate pots with provisions will disappear.
From January 1, 2026, you will simply receive vacation days in time.
Just like permanent employees.
Simple, fair, and clear.
5. More protection in case of illness and safety
If you fall ill, the temporary employment agency must provide better guidance and assistance with recovery or reallocation.
Safety will also receive more attention.
Before you start working, it must be clear what risks there are and what tools you will receive.
Because good work starts with safe work.
6. You really count
All in all, this means more certainty, more clarity, and more equality.
The new collective labor agreement shows that the temping world is in motion.
And that's good news.
At Mentro, we believe that temping can be more humane.
We come from the tech world, so we know what it feels like to be on the floor.
We understand what you need.
Conclusion
The new rules are a step forward.
Fairer work, better arranged, and more certainty for you.
And we are happy to help with that.
Because at Mentro, we don't say it for nothing:
Every match matters. 💚
